This week's featured shop: TomatoBrains!

This week's featured shop is the lovely TomatoBrains! She is an active member of the FTLOSA team and makes quality pet hammocks.


When she brought 2 dumbo rat brothers into her home, her hammock making began. She happened to be living at a military dorm at the time, so she had to hide them under her desk and behind a couple of large canvases. She soon realized that she wanted to create her own hammock sets that were more economically efficient, and after receiving a sewing machine for Christmas, she started experimenting. She eliminated the aspects of traditional hammocks she didn't like, and as her rats grew, so did the hammocks. She officially opened up shop on Etsy on December 3, 2010 and began selling her sets at competitive prices compared to the ones she had purchased herself in the past. Her fabrics are very bright and colorful with some very cute designs. As she says, " Why not have hammocks as cute as your fur kids? Also cages really stand out inside the home, so it's nice to "decorate" them in a sense."

In the future she plans to continue diversifying her hammock designs and demonstrating her love for animals by sewing things that they will enjoy. She also has plans to make prints of her artwork.
