Our weeklyspotlight shop, WizardatWork!

It's that time again! I'm very pleased to introduce a new member to the FTLOSA group, and share her awesome shop with all of you. Wizardatwork opened up shop on Etsy in Aprl of 2010, and since then has produced a various array of stunning crafts and goodies. According to her, she's pretty much tried it all! Currently in the shop you will find a lot of really fabulous paper crafts, as well as soaps, body scrubs, candles, magnets and bags. You will also find her crochet "pet popcorn" which yours truly ( that's me, Chibi, crochet fan extraordinaire) finds very clever. The story of her recycled baby food jars that she uses for her scrubs and candles is sweet and touching. Like a lot of our FTLOSA friends, Wizard has rescued animals herself (Rescue FTW!). She currently has three ferrets: Gaia, Logi and Kári. Her other two rescues, Magick and Spirit, have crossed the rainbow bridge. All of them were rescued from the GCFA (Greater Chicago Ferret Association). Gaia is nearly seven and has survived insulinoma and adrenal cancer, thanks to mom's special diet of Gerber's Chicken baby food and additional supplements to keep Gaia's body in check. So rather than waste the baby food jars, she paints and decorates them and attaches her self-made labels. Awesome!
Here's Gaia!
Kári was the inspiration for the crochet pet popcorn. Whenever Wizard would start working on her bath scrubbies, Kári would mischievously take them right from her hands to play with them. He, like most ferrets, would take the soft scrubbies and run, play with, and hide them. And so a new fun toy to share with others was born!

Wizard has also been doing her paper crafting for a long time, since 1995. She has a lot of rubberstamping work recently and her coupon cards are extremely clever. She takes the concept of making those coupon books as gifts to a whole new level. And if you check out the link to her Bright and Cheerful Coupon Card
she gives some fabulous tips and ideas to use for your coupons! WizardatWork is constantly dabbling in all different kinds of art forms, so don't be surprised to see lots of other neat crafts like jewelry and photography in the future. She is currently honing her photography craft and is interested in learning more about  tear sheets and stock lists and the best ways to mount and mat fine art prints. She has some amazing photos of wildlife that she takes in urban areas, and has some other topics of interest that she enjoys photographing, which you can check out here: http://shootingdownthemiddleoftheroad.blogspot.com/.   This crafter's shop is definately one to keep an eye out for, plus you will find a lot of her crafts contribute to good causes for animals so be sure to check out everything!
